MET 2200 - Applied Mechanics of Materials

Prerequisite(s): EM 2040 with a grade of C or better.
Stress and strain concepts on various planes of a loaded member, principal stresses and Mohrs circle. Shear diagrams, bending moments and torsion and resulting stresses; deflections in beams and buckling of columns with experiments on reflection in beams, tensile testing, hardness testing, strain measurement, impact testing and Hookes Law.
