BA 2530 - Logistics


Prerequisite(s): MA 1030  , BA 2010  , 200-Level Statistics course.
Provides an analysis of many logistics services to include global logistics, customer service and order management, distribution/fulfillment operations, carrier selection, costing and negotiation. In addition, reviews current logistics technology process support and integration, as well as how emerging technology is changing the future of logistics. Taking a unified approach, students develop a framework for making intelligent decisions within the supply chain. Covers key logistics functions, such as demand planning, procurement, inventory theory and control, transportation planning and execution, reverse logistics, and flexible contracting. Explores concepts such as postponement, portfolio management, and dual sourcing. Emphasizes skills necessary to recognize and manage risk, analyze various tradeoffs, and model logistics systems.
