HUM 3310 - Interpretation of Fiction Prerequisite(s): ENG1272. This course instills an appreciation of great fiction by providing an overview of the techniques and skills used in writing and interpreting literature. Credit(s): 3 (3 plus 0)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze and recall the components and devices of fiction.
- Critique, interpret, and analyze written texts.
- Produce an analysis or interpretation of a fictional work using MLA documentation.
- Understand the elements of literary genres, such as the novel, the short story, poetry, and drama.
- Compare literature from a variety of cultures and perspectives.
- Understand and apply literary criticism.
