PSY 4910 - Child and Adolescent Internship Prerequisite(s): Senior Standing, PSY4370 (Child Psychology Theory and Applications).
This course will be conducted in a seminar format. It is designed to provide students with applied practice through field experience with children and adolescents in a social service setting as well as additional supervision. Students will complete 80-120 hours of volunteer/work experience in an approved social service setting that serves children/adolescents. The specific work setting and work responsibilities are determined through consultation with the supervising instructor. Forty hours in the work setting will equal one academic credit. Student can complete either 80 or 120 hours of work experience over the course of the semester to receive either 2 or 3 credits for the course. (2-3 credits) Credit(s): 3 (0 plus 3)
