PLAW 3100 - Tort Law


Prerequisite(s): PLAW 1100 .
This course will introduce concepts that comprise the bulk of modern America torts law and practice. Students will examine the legal principles of civil wrongs for which the law recognizes a legal remedy on behalf of a private individual. Study will include defenses against claims of harm. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to determine: what conduct counts as tortuous or wrongful; whether a conduct caused the kind of harm the law will recognize; and those defenses that can be raised against a claim of liability.
