SM 2300 - Sport Economics & Financial Analysis Prerequisite(s): ECON 2200, or ECON 2210. This course introduces students to the foundations and principles of sport economics and related financial concepts, such as; sports leagues, and franchises methods of determining value, models of economic assessment, supply demand, elasticity of price in a sports-driven market, economic trends of sport products, economic impact of Sport Events and related Sports Labor Markets and Collective Bargaining, and the economic methods employed to administer Intercollegiate Sport in the USA. Students will be excepted to develop their critical thinking in regard to this course material; this involves developing the ability to analyze and discern complex problems and propose solutions.
