Medical Coders are a skilled subset of health information professionals who work to classify data from medical records using standardized coding classification systems. The coding practitioner will analyze patients’ records and assign alpha-numeric codes for each diagnosis and procedure.
The Medical Coding Certificate program will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to become proficient in applying ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes to advanced medical cases.
After completing the Medical Coding Certificate program, learners will be able to:

Analyze and interpret medical record documentation.

Recognize medical terms associated with various body systems and diseases.

Accurately assign ICD-10-CM for diagnostic coding.

Accurately assign ICD-10-PCS codes to medical cases.

Accurately assign CPT codes for coding medical procedures.
