LAW 9604 - Remedies

Third year preferred.
This course considers the question of what plaintiffs are entitled to when they win a case and why. We will study legal and equitable civil remedies including compensatory and punitive damages, restitution, reformation, rescission, unjust enrichment, specific performance and injunctive relief. The remedy is what most clients want and often serves as the source of the attorney’s compensation. Remedies are a course that deals in practicality and draws on many parts of the curriculum to test theories of what the law is all about. Credit(s): 3
