COMM 3310 - Interpersonal Communication Prerequisite(s): ENG 1270 . This course focuses on the process of interpersonal communication as a dynamic and complex system of interactions; it also provides theory, actual practice, and criticism for examining and changing human interactions in work, family, and other social contexts. Students will study verbal communication, as well as non-verbal communication, including performances of the body that express and contest cultural norms. Others topics include message incoding and decoding, feedback, listening skills, conflict management, and other elements affecting interpersonal communication. Includes topics such as perception, self-concept, language, message encoding,and decoding, feedback, listening skills, conflict management, and other elements affecting interpersonal communication.
