COMM 2700 - History of Mass Media Prerequisite(s): COMM 1250 . This course provides an overview of the mass media, including newspapers, magazines, film, radio and television, and finally the world wide web along with the technological revolutions in social media. The course begins with Gutenberg’s first press, and the role newspapers played in American history from the Colonial period to today, and then considers the present state of the mass media and future directions it appears to be taking.
