BIO 1210 - Human Disease & Basic Pharmacology

Prerequisite(s): BIO 1110 or BIO 2710.
This course covers the basics of general pharmacology and human disease for Health Information professionals; general principles of drug actions/reactions, major drug classes, specific agents within each class of drug, and routine mathematical calculation needed to determine desired dosages. For human disease the course will study common disease of each body system, including disease etiology, symptoms, diagnostic tests. therapeutic methods, and disease prognoses. 3 credit hours.
