A growing number of law enforcement agencies require some college education for new officers, and Indiana Tech’s associate degree will fulfill that entry-level requirement. Courses take a closer look at individual components of the criminal justice system, such as the law enforcement agencies, the courts, and the correctional system.
The program gives students a general understanding of the criminal justice system that will enable them to excel in a variety of agencies.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Explain the legal system of the United States.
- Summarize the major components of the criminal justice system.
- Present written and oral communication skills relating to the elements of the criminal justice system.
- Explain the role of the criminal justice professional within the limitations of our Constitution.
- Examine the importance of ethical behavior within the criminal justice environment.
- Identify issues related to diversity within the criminal justice system.
- Assess issues related to diversity within the criminal justice system.
