Criminal Justice, A.S.

A growing number of law enforcement agencies require some college education for new officers, and Indiana Tech’s associate degree will fulfill that entry-level requirement. Courses take a closer look at individual components of the criminal justice system, such as the law enforcement agencies, the courts, and the correctional system.

The program gives students a general understanding of the criminal justice system that will enable them to excel in a variety of agencies.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain the legal system of the United States.
  2. Summarize the major components of the criminal justice system.
  3. Present written and oral communication skills relating to the elements of the criminal justice system.
  4. Explain the role of the criminal justice professional within the limitations of our Constitution.
  5. Examine the importance of ethical behavior within the criminal justice environment.
  6. Identify issues related to diversity within the criminal justice system.
  7. Assess issues related to diversity within the criminal justice system.
