The Associate of Science in Criminalistics gives students a start in the fields of forensic science and criminal justice. The selection of courses in math, forensic science and criminal justice are meant to help students gain skills for work or for future study.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Explain the concepts that guide and direct the system of justice in contemporary society.

  2. Describe the role of basic scientific disciplines in forensic science.

  3. Explain the role of the forensic science disciplines in criminal investigation.

  4. Describe the key components of criminal investigation.

  5. Describe materials and methods used for bloodstain pattern analysis.

  6. Describe materials and methods used for detection, collection and analysis of fingerprints.
