This 18-credit hour certificate program in additive manufacturing introduces students to additive manufacturing and 3D printing related processes. The program includes basic concepts in GD&T, basic CAD, and basic conventional machining as a preparation towards more advanced topics in machining and layered material deposition processes. This certificate program also covers quality, design, and economic aspects of additive manufacturing. The curriculum provides training in industrial grade 3D printing equipment. With additional preparation, students will be able to take the SME Additive Manufacturing Certification, which is recognized by industry.
Prerequisites/corequisites for the following courses within the Additive Manufacturing certificate will not be enforced:
- EGR 1710 Engineering Graphics and Design
- EGR 2710 GD&T
- MET 2800 Introduction to Machining
Prerequisites/corequisites for all other courses within the Additive Manufacturing certificate will be enforced.
