Pre-Law, B.S. 3+3

The pre-law program at Indiana Tech is designed to prepare undergraduates to prepare for the rigors of the first-year law school. Students will take a varied classes that encourage the same skills stressed in law school, as identified by the American Bar Association: analytic and problem-solving skills, critical reading abilities, writing skills, oral communication and listening abilities, general research skills, task organization and management skills. Students will take classes in humanities, social sciences, and legal topics typically offered in the first year of law school. Pre-Law students successfully completing the curriculum will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Law with the skills to enter and exposure to courses typically required in the first year of law school.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Express an understanding of the United States Constitutions and legal system.
  2. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
  3. Have an understanding of concepts taught in typical first-year law school courses.
  4. Be able to formulate and express, orally and in writing, a position, theory or argument.
  5. Understand the importance of ethical behavior in personal; and professional endeavors.
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to use legal terminology properly.
