Leaders must learn how to be adaptive and agile in order to create more resilient and responsive health systems. Students will learn how to use predictive models supporting disease surveillance and the identification of community hot spots. They will study the burden of disease on society and how we can come together through collective action to address global health challenges that impact the vitality of our communities. Students will understand the impact of the environment and genetics on disease in order to develop effective interventions in uncertain and rapidly changing landscapes. The ethical questions related to health, healthcare and community health such as governmental obligations in the provision of health care, and appropriate measures to control infectious diseases will be explored.
