Case Management, Certificate


The Certificate in Case Management will provide students with access to introductory courses in Psychology, Human Services, and Child Development. The program will prepare students academically to continue studies towards a B.S degree in Human Services, Psychology, and/or Child Development. With this certificate, students will gain the needed knowledge and theory to join the workforce in the area of case management. Students will be prepared to work with a diverse population. 

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate the fundamentals of providing emotional, psychological, academic, and physical support to children and adolescents in early education, child care, social service, or mental health settings.

2. Interpret how human diversity and multiculturalism are important for successful interventions with adults, senior citizens, children, adolescents, and their caretakers.

3. Apply ethical behavior when interacting with adults, senior citizens, and child and adolescent clients or students, and their caretakers.

4. Identify factors that contribute to the development of social problems that negatively impact clients who utilize social service or human service organizations.

5. Employ the use of effective oral communication and writing skills including APA style in professional and academic settings.

6. Recognize the ways mental processes impact human behaviors throughout the life span.

7. Model the psychological skills, knowledge, and principles needed for improving the functioning of individuals who utilize human services.
