General Education
Indiana Tech’s general education program offers a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum that aims to equip students with essential skills in “How to Communicate,” “How to Analyze,” and “How to Lead.” General education is designed to complement students’ major areas of study and fosters well-rounded development preparing students to succeed in a competitive global landscape.
Indiana Tech general education components are organized through three primary competency areas, each with three descriptive building blocks designed to both offer flexibility and choice and build individual skills and experiences needed for successful professional careers.

1. Demonstrate effective academic writing as a process, including planning, drafting, revising, and editing.

Collaborative Communication -
1. Demonstrate the use of effective group practices
2. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively
HOW TO ANALYZE
Quantitative Reasoning -
1. Demonstrate ability to solve problems using arithmetic, algebraic, geometric, or analytical methods
2. Demonstrate the ability to pose problems, deduce consequences, formulate alternatives and make predictions
Qualitative Analysis -
1. Demonstrate skills required to critically evaluate information and make rational decisions.
2. Demonstrate ability to use methods of inquiry to solve real-world problems.
Data Analytics/Critical Analysis-
1. Demonstrate ability to apply computations OR analytical methods to manipulate, organize, summarize, and evaluate information.
