SM 2700 - Sports Tourism and Leisure Prerequisite(s): None. This course examines foundational issues in the area of Sport Tourism, including defining leisure, recreation, sport, and tourism for aspiring Sport managers. The course will examine historical, philosophical, sociological, psychological, and economic approaches to understanding Sport tourism, including its meanings, social contexts, and personal and social importance in the pursuit of Leisure studies and the intersection of the two. By the end of the semester, students should understand their history and evolution, as well as their impact on contemporary society and how to work within this specialized area of the sport industry.
