The mission of the Exercise Science - Strength and Conditioning program is to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and practical fieldwork necessary for careers in sports performance, personal training, and strength and conditioning. Graduates are prepared to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam offered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Students will be able to:
- Perform proficiency in fitness assessments.
- Develop safe and effective exercise programs based on the FITT principles for diverse populations.
- Communicate to various audiences using effective interpersonal skills.
- Evaluate behavior modification strategies to promote and maintain a physically active lifestyle.
- Develop safe and effective exercise programs for athletic performance improvement.
- Develop an injury prevention program.
